Rockin' with Roland Osborne again in 2007 |
We have the return of Roland once again this year and were fortunate to have him teach some of our kids classes. What a power house of energy. With his nutty, buzzing yet highly disciplined and strategic teaching style, Roland is in demand the world over to train instructors in teaching methods. He gave some inspirational talks to our teen classes and also to our Leasdership and Mastery class. He told how he started in the martial arts as a young kid and soon realised that if he worked hard, even though at first he wasn't as naturally talented as some, that he would improve and surpass his fellow classmates because, as he says, 'most people are lazy and just don't put in the effort'. T o be successful you just need to stay on track and keep at it. Not give up. By the time he was 15 he owned and was running his own martial arts school in partnership. By the time he was 30 he had made his first $1,000,000. He loves his life as a martial artist, travelling the world, training, staying healty and strong, learning and teaching, and striving for success. He says you can be anything you want and do anything you want to do - you just have to have the determination to stick at it. Being a Black Belt is a wonderful goal because it teaches you how to develop those characteristics for success in life. He also did a workshop/seminar with our Black Belt instructors and Program Directors to enhance our teaching skills. pics coming soon.

Bushidokan Awards Banquet 2008 |
What an amazing night! Congratulations to all our Bushidokan students, especially to all who attended on the night and experienced the incredible sense of family that we have at our school. We were simply blessed to have Hanshi Tino Ceberano and Shihan Richard Norton with us to share the special night. They spoke of training 'back in the day' and when Shihan Richard first attended one of Hanshi Demonstarations in the Ringwood area when Richard was just 15 yrs old. It was a real privelege to witness Hanshi then present Shihan Richard with his 5th Dan certificate and Shihan Richard said that "words can't describe what this means to me..".
We were also entertained and entranced by some fantastic demonstrations: Team Ultimate, the Leadership & Mastery Team, KidsAdvanced class and the Black Belt Instructors demo. Thanks to all the courageous ones who got out on the mat and showed us what Bushidokan is about.
